Description
This is a new Century (Fomerly A.O.Smith) 3-Speed Furnace Blower Motor. It is rated at 1/2 HP 115v 1050-1075 RPM. It replaces the old part numbers listed below. When installing a new motor the motor manufactures highly recommend that you install a new capacitor at the same time. Old capacitors can become weak over time and have a negative effect on the new motor. We have the capacitor that goes with this motor in our store. You can locate it using part # CAP991003O.
Function:
An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In an HVAC system, motors typically turn the air conditioning fan blade and the furnace blower motor. Newer high efficient motors, such as X13 and ECM motors, have "end caps" that control the motor speeds. These can be removed and replaced separately.
