Description
This is a new 8/10/12 KW Heat Sequencer Relay for an electric furnace. It is designed to replace York/Luxaire/Coleman part #s 3400-356 3400-3561 & S1-3400-3561. This relay is used to stage the heating elements on one at a time so that there is no drain on the electric. It has a 24 volt coil and is good for up to 2 heating elements.
Function:
Relays are switches that open and close circuits electrically. In most HVAC equipment a low voltage coil relay (24 vac) is energized in order to open or close a higher voltage (usually 120-240) circuit.
