This is a BRAND NEW FASCO Inducer Motor / Exhaust Motor. The Fasco part # is 70581311 (Direct Replacement for old Lennox/Armstrong/Ducane #s 99M63 99M6301 24W95 & 24W9501). Motor is 1/30 HP 115 volt and 3000 rpm. Thanks for looking and good luck!
Function:
An inducer motor is designed to expel the exhaust gas from the furnace. Older inefficient furnaces allowed the flue gas to escape the unit with virtually no resistance. Newer high efficient furnace heat exchangers are so restrictive that the flue gases cannot exit the furnace though natural draft. Therefore, the inducer is required to pull the flue gases through the heat exchanger. The inducer motor is usually the first thing that starts up when your furnace calls for heat.
