Description
This is a BRAND NEW OEM Trane/American Standard furnace Gas Valve. It's designed for HOT SURFACE IGNITION and the Trane/American Standard Part # is VAL07973 (White Rodgers Gemini Model # 36G22 Type 213). Also has part # D670785P01. (Valve has an updated look from the old White Rodgers look but is the direct replacement!) The valve has an 1/2" inlet and a 1/2" outlet. The valve is currently set up for NAT gas.
Function:
The gas valve is a low voltage control (usually 24 VAC) that allow gas into the combustion chamber. It is also an adjustable regulator that insures proper gas pressure for combustion. They have a manual shut off.
