Description
This is a BRAND NEW Carrier/Bryant/Payne Gas Furnace Squirrel Cage/ Blower Wheel. It goes on the inducer/exhaust motor in the furnace. The Part # is LA21RB549 (OEM Replacement for Old # LA21RB553) and the wheel is 5.25" in diameter and 1" tall (as seen in the picture). Rotation as seen the picture would be counter clock-wise. Function:
An inducer motor is designed to expel the exhaust gas from the furnace. Older inefficient furnaces allowed the flue gas to escape the unit with virtually no resistance. Newer high efficient furnace heat exchangers are so restrictive that the flue gases cannot exit the furnace though ?ônatural draft?ö. Therefore, the inducer is required to pull the flue gases through the heat exchanger. The inducer motor is usually the first thing that starts up when your furnace calls for heat.
