Description
This is a new 3-speed furnace blower motor. It replaces all the old/obsolete Part #s listed below. It's 1/3 HP 115v 1075 RPM with reversible rotation. The motor is 5" in diameter (Frame 42Y). The new motor requires a capacitor rated at 15 uf/MFD and 370/440 Volt.
When installing a new motor the motor manufactures highly recommend that you install a new capacitor at the same time. Old capacitors can become weak over time and have a negative effect on the new motor. We have the capacitor that goes with this motor in our store. You can locate it using part # "CAP99 1504O".
Function:
An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In an HVAC system, motors typically turn the air conditioning fan blade and the furnace blower motor. Newer high efficient motors, such as X13 and ECM motors, have "end caps" that control the motor speeds. These can be removed and replaced separately.
