Description
This is a new 190 degree 1 Pole limit switch (L190-40). It works for one heating element in a Coleman Intertherm ect Electric Furnace/Air Handler. Look at your limit switch and you should find the temperature rating of yours listed on the switch itself! When replacing an older limit switch in an electric furnace it is recommended to replace all of them at the same time (there should be between 2 and 4 limits). Sometimes replacing one limit will reveal that another limit (or two) are also weak and going bad.
Function:
A limit switch is a safety device designed to shut down a piece of equipment. Limits have a set point, which is in some cases, adjustable. The set point prevents the temperature or pressure from exceeding the rating of the switch.
