The Lennox/Armstrong/Ducane part # is 28M96 (also 28M9601 Norton is 601 1104 (also has part # 204-342-01). Simply unplug yours and plug this one in. Ignitor is protected by a slim metal casing. Function:
The purpose of an ignitor is to ignite the gas after the gas valve opens up. It most cases, the ignitor turns off after ignition has occurred.
