Description

This is a BRAND NEW GE Carrier/Bryant/Payne 4-Speed BLOWER MOTOR. The part # is HC45AE118A (also HC41AE118) The Ge Part # is 5KCP39PGS171S (works in all the Carrier/Bryant furnaces listed below). It's 115 volt 1075 RPM. The motor is 5 5/8" in diameter (Frame 48Y). The shaft extends 4" out of the motor. The motor has 4 speed wires 2 capacitor wires 1 common and 1 ground. If the shaft is facing up the motor rotates clockwise!
Function:
An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In an HVAC system, motors typically turn the air conditioning fan blade and the furnace blower motor. Newer high efficient motors, such as X13 and ECM motors, have "end caps" that control the motor speeds. These can be removed and replaced separately.

    Perfect Drop in Replacement

    After a few days of "squealing" sounds coming from our HVAC, some research indicated that it was most likely bearings going bad on the blower mother. Then the motor stopped all together (not good in the heat of summer). Ordered this motor on a Wednesday and it arrived Saturday AM. The replacement was straightforward. Problem solved. A/C is working and I didn't have to spend $1000+ for an HVAC repair company to diagnose/fix the problem.
