This is a BRAND NEW Mars Universal 48" Thermocouple for Standing Pilot units. It works on furnaces water heaters pool heaters and more and is a direct replacement for Robertshaw and A.O.Smith part #s 1970-048 and TC-K48. Thanks for looking and good luck!
Function:
A flame sensor senses the furnace flame ensuring that ignition has occurred. It then monitors the flame until the furnace shut down. Should combustion be disrupted for any reason the sensor loses its signal and shuts the gas valve off.
