This is a BRAND NEW Honeywell 24 volt furnace Smart Gas Valve.The Honeywell Part # is SV9501M2056 (also SV9501M2528), and it is a direct replacement for the old part #s listed below. The valve has an 1/2" inlet and a 1/2" outlet. It has two wiring plugs and comes with an LP kit to convert valve if desired. Thanks for looking!
Function:
The gas valve is a low voltage control (usually 24 VAC) that allow gas into the combustion chamber. It is also an adjustable regulator that insures proper gas pressure for combustion. They have a manual shut off.

    Saved big money before the coldest winter in decades!

    Good documentation for Smart Valve install (install difficulty depends more on the furnace/main gas layout). Recommend getting online install docs downloaded while waiting for part. Arrived less than 48 hours after order. Saved me ~$1000 doing this myself! In my case the SV9501M-2528 is a "upgraded" more generic replacement for SV9501M-2726 no longer produced by Honeywell: so I needed to harvest the vent adapter from the old valve. Also the default pressure setting is different than the original. But installed in less than an hour (after initial troubleshooting) and the furnace works fine now.
