This is a Brand New OEM Upgraded Rheem/Ruud/Richmond/Vanguard/Richmond/Vanguard/GE White Rodgers Water Heater Gas Valve / Burner Assembly Kit. It includes the gas valve (Part # AP13845B-1 / 37E73A323) and burner assembly with a new ignitor.
Function:
The gas valve is a low voltage control (usually 24 VAC) that allow gas into the combustion chamber. It is also an adjustable regulator that insures proper gas pressure for combustion. They have a manual shut off.
