Description
This is a BRAND NEW OEM Rheem/Weather King/Corsaire/RUUD 4 Speed Protech Blower Motor. It is designed by Rheem/Ruud to replace many older motors. The Horse Power range is 1/4 - 3/4 depending on how you wire it. The Rheem/Weather King/Corsaire/RUUD part number is 51-23017-42. This motor is 5 5/8" in diameter (Frame 48Y) and has a wiring diagram on the side of the motor. The rotation is reversible. Motor can be mounted with a belly band around the center or using Rheem's 4 mounting arms that come screwed into some OEM Rheem/Ruud motors.
Function:
An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In an HVAC system, motors typically turn the air conditioning fan blade and the furnace blower motor. Newer high efficient motors, such as X13 and ECM motors, have "end caps" that control the motor speeds. These can be removed and replaced separately.
