This is a BRAND NEW Mars Universal 36" Thermocouple for Standing Pilot units. Is is a direct replacement for Carrier/Bryant/Payne part #s 01-1840 01-1846 & 01-3427. Thanks for looking and good luck!
Function:
A flame sensor senses the furnace flame ensuring that ignition has occurred. It then monitors the flame until the furnace shut down. Should combustion be disrupted for any reason the sensor loses its signal and shuts the gas valve off.
