Function:
An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In an HVAC system, motors typically turn the air conditioning fan blade and the furnace blower motor. Newer high efficient motors, such as X13 and ECM motors, have "end caps" that control the motor speeds. These can be removed and replaced separately.

    7.5 MFD capacitor

Posted by Bren Phillips on 1st Jun 2021 10:57

Biggest issue is that the motor calls for a 7.5 MFD capacitor not a 5 MFD capacitor as stated in the description. I ran it on a 5 MFD capacitor that actually tested at 4.5 MFD for about a week while waiting on the new capacitor and it did run and didn't overeheat. Not a Genteq brand, but not sure they still make them. Motor body is a bit larger than the original, but shouldn't be an issue on any install. Wiring is exactly the same as the original.

Seems to be an exact replacement.Easy install.Glad to find a duplicate motor for my compressor which was 16 years old.! Wish there was a reminder in the description that you need a new FAN.! Needed to replace fan blades as old ones were ruined taking then off old motor.!
